So, there's an inner corner, where the porch meets the house (all in light brown brick), with a roughly south-east exposure, behind a few holly and privet, and just around the corner from the Monster Rosemary that will Eat Us All (I adore that plant). The spot gets light from sunrise to early afternoon. I think I'd like to plant a big brambly wild type rose there. We're in the blurry area at the border of USDA Zones 6 and 7, plus I know those bricks and the shelter of the house and porch base make a distinct micro climate.

Does anyone have any suggestions for roses and suppliers?

I made this last night, minus the wine (because we don't drink, so it wasn't already laying around--or growing out front--like everything else in the recipe), along with rice and steamed broccoli. The gluten option was naan. Husband expressed his surprise at how well the sauce turned out, and Husband is the last person to even think about gluten-free meals (honestly? The naan was more for him--and Conrad, oh, how that child gobbles the garlic cilantro naan--than for me.) sailorzeo recently posted her ire at people who can't conceive of life without gluten, and I agree completely that those people are narrow minded ninnies. I guess I just want to say...um...OK, I do enjoy things that involve gluten, but, if I had to be gluten free, I can't imagine life would suffer.

Or am I still clueless?

Rococo, Tanzen, and Hemakshi
Warning: Big picture, so you can see the faces, since they're all customs
Rococo is a Mattel When I Read, I Dream head with yarn hair sewn in the scalp center and glued on the rest as an undercut, on a standard Obitsu body (Kite is her doll and goes with her)
Tanzen is an Obitsu head with custom rooted hair on a DML Eve 2.5 with Barbie neck graft. Left wrist is missing a chunk, as is common with the Eve 2.0/2.5s.
Hemakshi is an acetone-shrunk Barbie head on a playline articulated Barbie body (not Fashionista), with...um...a little bit of custom sculpting and paint. Whole body is clear coated. One of the ears has been broken and glued back together.

Husband is the warehouse manager for an independent toy store. He will be working long hours until Christmas Eve, every day of the week, leaving me alone that much longer with only Conrad for company.

...although, it shouldn't be as bad this year, being alone with Conrad that much longer every day, because the kiddo is, well, a year older. He's able to generally entertain himself, as well as being generally entertaining, now. Plus, I have many, many unwatched (well, unwatched in the last 10-15 years) MST3K episodes in reserve (will have to play them on the computer instead of TV, though, thanks to Mr Button Pressy).

I will be staying far, far away from shopping venues for the duration, too, with the exception being the very early Sunday morning WalMart grocery trips. Whee. Oh, and, trips to the post office.

Either I'll start to go stir crazy, or I'll re-evaluate things and become a complete homebody. Hmm.

I really didn't appreciate her from my brief encounter with Eric's Sakurana, or even his in-depth reviews. For shame! She's a wonderful doll, and Eric did cover all the wonderfulness.
